Minerals from Tellure’s boutique

Why is the Tellure mineral boutique unique in France?

The Tellure mineral shop is not like any other shop. It is located in the heart of the Tellure mining park, right at the entrance of an old silver mine that has been in operation since the 16th century. The Tellure mineral shop sources its minerals year-round from mining operations and wholesalers from all over the world, who gather annually in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines for the International Mineral & Gem Show. This internationally renowned event takes place every year in June over four days. The Tellure mineral shop is, in a way, an extension of this international gathering. The shop is open from April to November.

Tellure at the Heart of the Mineralogy Capital

Tellure is located in the town of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines in Alsace, in the Val d’Argent valley. The Val d’Argent has a rich mining history, with the exploitation of several hundred silver mines dating back to the 16th century. This history, closely tied to the extraction of natural resources, led to the creation of the Tellure mining park and the International Mineral & Gem Show. The reputation of these two landmarks gives Val d’Argent its legitimacy as the Mineralogy Capital.

The Tellure mineral shop benefits from the region’s enthusiasm for minerals. Many mineral experts either live in or frequently visit Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines and advise the shop in selecting the stones offered for sale. The world’s leading suppliers visit Tellure each year, presenting their finest minerals to the shop.

At the Tellure mineral shop, you will find stones from all over the world, of incomparable quality.

Tellure, the Former Silver Mine

You may already know, but Tellure is indeed a former silver mine. Originally, the Tellure mine was called the Saint Jean mine, with operations beginning around 1549. The Tellure tourist site opened in 2009 to revive this exceptional heritage. The underground cavities, carved by human hands over centuries, can be explored by the light of a headlamp.

The Tellure mineral shop stands at the heart of the Tellure mining park, right at the exit of the silver mine. From the shop, you can feel the cool air rising from the nearby mine. What better setting for a mineral shop than a former silver mine? This is the unique atmosphere you will experience when visiting the Tellure mineral shop.

300m² of Minerals from Around the World

Yes, it takes a lot of space to showcase the thousands of mineral varieties found worldwide. The Tellure mineral shop spans nearly 300m² at the center of the mining park.

The benefits of minerals: everything you need to know about lithotherapy?

Lithotherapy is a widely practiced method today that involves using the virtues of stones to alleviate certain ailments. Although lithotherapy has no scientific basis, there is no shortage of testimonials from people who feel its benefits.

Lithotherapy is also known as crystal healing or stone therapy. It is a holistic practice that uses the virtues of stones and crystals to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The belief in the healing properties of stones dates back thousands of years, with civilizations such as the Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese incorporating them into their medicinal practices. In modern times, people are rediscovering the power of stones and embracing their potential benefits. When choosing stones for lithotherapy, several factors come into play.

First and foremost, it is essential to understand that each stone carries its own unique energy and properties. These properties are believed to interact with the body’s energy field, or aura, to promote balance and healing. When selecting stones for lithotherapy, it is crucial to consider your specific needs or the issues you seek to address. Are you looking for emotional stability, physical healing, or spiritual growth? Different stones possess distinct qualities that can support various aspects of well-being.

The care provided to your body through the power of stones is called lithotherapy. We decipher this wellness approach for you—follow the guide.

Lithotherapy: how to choose your life stone?

Understanding the 4 Major Families in Lithotherapy

To understand which stone you need in lithotherapy, you must first familiarize yourself with the four major families that exist: absorbing stones, repelling stones, soothing stones, and radiant stones.

Absorbing Stones:

Absorbing stones in lithotherapy have the power to retain negative energies surrounding their wearer. They will therefore protect you from all external aggressions such as judgment, criticism, sadness, or even the anger of others. These stones are called absorbing because they have a strong retention ability. They accumulate the negative energies around you in your place. However, it is important to regularly “discharge” them from all the accumulated negative energy. This process is known as purification. Purification applies to all four families of stones, but it is especially important for absorbing stones. You can purify your stone with clear water or simply let it rest outside for a few days, preferably in contact with the earth.

Repelling Stones

Unlike absorbing stones, repelling stones literally push away negative energies. In lithotherapy, they are said to act like a shield or a mirror. However, if you are temporarily filled with negative energy, these stones may reflect your own negativity back at you. If you are currently experiencing negative energy, it is preferable to choose an absorbing stone instead.

Soothing Stones

Soothing stones have the power to help you regain a state of calm and serenity. These stones work on both the mind and the body. It is well known that mothers and grandmothers around the world put an amber necklace on their infants when they start teething. This is the power of soothing stones: to calm. They help prevent you from being overwhelmed by negative thoughts and energies.
